It is typically performed in fissured rock masses to reduce the flow of water along the joints and discontinuities in the rock. A hole is drilled through the fissures and joints of a rock mass & grouted. The grout travels along the discontinuities & seal them to control ingress & flow of water, along the sealed discontinuities.
